Hank & Ella with The Fine Country Band

by Hank & Ella with The Fine Country Band

  • Compact Disc (CD)

In this debut album, Hank and Ella with The Fine Country Band explore themes of love and loss, evoking dreamy melodies and scenes of dimly lit honky-tonks. Containing thirteen original vintage classics. Hank explained, "The main theme of the album is lost love. My wife and I would spend months apart on opposite sides of the country. Our best friend was the telephone and many nights I would lay awake wondering why we put ourselves through it. Love is a special thing." "Daydreamin is about just that: staring out the window on a rainy afternoon wondering if your loved one will ever return. The song's vintage tone brings back sounds of the Everly Brothers and other 50's artists. The imagery throughout the entire album transports listeners back to the dawn of rock and roll. The band puts their own stamp on the early rock and country sound by injecting unique melodies that soar over Hank's vocals.

A high energy classic country song "I'm a Big Deal (when the sun goes down) is a straight ahead song about working a 9 to 5 job and heading right to the bar after work. The bar is a place where you can sing your heart out and where everyone knows the real you. This is a true-to-life song that many musicians and people can relate to: working hard and having a good time. The song June expands on the dreamlike sound the band creates with distinct chord progressions and harmonies by The Diamond Sisters. "We really like the sounds that take the listener to new places and draws out joyful emotions." We are really excited to share this new music with our fans. We have spent a lot of time working on the material you are about to hear, from writing the songs to working up harmonies and guitar riffs. We hope you enjoy the music and enjoy the trip back in time.
